The IGC cable is provided with THEMI. It is used for data transfer between the
THEMI electronic unit and a PC and has a RJ45 connector on one end and a DB9
female connector on the other end. The cable is 1 meter ( 3' ) long. Power supply
can be established through the IGC cable's single leads: red = +12volt DC, black=
-12volt DC. This allows data transfer even if THEMI is disconnected from the
wiring harness.

The
serial interface connector
- THEMI's wiring harness has
a DB9-RS232 male gender data connector. This Sub-D 9-pin male connector
fits directly to a standard serial cable of Pocket PCs. Data from THEMI
are in NMEA 0183 format $GPGGA and $GPRMC every second.
Therefore THEMI can serve as
a GPS unit for other instruments
- such as iPAQ and others
which can run navigation
software (i.e. "WinPilot" or "Anywhere Map" and others).
- They just have to be plugged
in.

It
is an active antenna. A coaxial cable transfers the signals to THEMI and serves
at the same time as a power supply for the antenna. Standard cable length is
1 m. The antenna is connected with the wiring harness through a SMA connector
according to MIL-C-39012 and CECC 22110/111.
The base
of the antenna carries a metric bolt M4 with a length of 10mm for mounting.
THEMI's GPS antenna needs to be installed so that it has a clear view of the
sky.
